Directions:
From Charlottesville: Take Route 29 North through Ruckersville. Stay on 29 North and drive approx. 8.5 miles. When you see the Bavarian Chef restaurant on the left side of the road, turn left (before the Shell gas station). Follow Shelby Road approx. 1.3 miles to the Rural Retreat sign. Turn left at mailbox 2398, cross the cattle guard and follow the gravel road to the house.
Room Descriptions: The first floor consists of six rooms. There is a living room, parlor, dining room, kitchen, full bath and laundry room. The living room and parlor both have fireplaces. There is a spacious covered back porch off the living room, as well as a smaller one off of the kitchen.

Upstairs, the master bedroom and a second bedroom both have a fireplace, with a full bath between them. Over the kitchen and dinning room are two more rooms that can serve as either bedrooms or office space.

The original plank flooring is retained throughout the house.
